The module will enable participants to build on developments in learning technologies by providing them with the opportunity to explore the context and issues of the pedagogy of technology-enhanced learning, including facilitated learning via the Internet. Following an initial consideration of the ethical, intellectual, economic, social, access and learning issues and practices of technology-enhanced learning in relation to higher education generally, and specific subjects, the module goes on to consider issues involved in developing and designing learning materials for electronic delivery. Particular attention will be paid to developing, monitoring and evaluation skills and procedures to ensure the quality and appropriateness of a flexible technology-enhanced experience. E-learning can be defined as the use of electronic technology and media to facilitate, support and enhance teaching, learning, assessment and research.

The module is delivered in a blended learning format (6 face-to-face seminars and 6 online discussions in alternate weeks) using the Anglia Ruskin Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) WebCT, Moodle and other technologies.
